
Kyle Leishman
General Counsel
Kyle Leishman is General Counsel for Colmena Group and has more than 22 years of legal experience. Prior to joining Colmena Kyle was a shareholder and practiced law with Jones Waldo Holbrook & McDonough, P.C. where he focused on real estate, corporate and commercial finance.
While practicing law at Jones Waldo, Kyle represented clients both large and small with respect to all aspects of real estate including acquisition, development, leasing, finance, land use, and disposition. He has also advised clients in numerous complex joint venture and partnership transactions. His experience includes projects in most asset classes including residential, industrial, office, multi-family, hospitality, retail and resort development. He has represented both borrowers and lenders in complex loan transactions as well as with respect to loan workouts.
Kyle has been involved in many community organizations throughout his career. He served for many years on the Board and as President of the Board of the Salt Lake Tennis Club. He also served on the Board of Amicus where he helped raise funds to support medical research. In 2018 he was named by Amicus and the Deseret Foundation as the Billy Casper Volunteer of the Year.
Kyle has also served as a mentor to new members of the Utah Bar Association and was named by the Utah State Bar as Mentor of the Year in 2019. He is consistently named one of the Utah Business Magazine’s Legal Elite and “Mountain States Super Lawyers”.
While in private practice Kyle served as a member of the Board of Directors at Jones Waldo and was the Chair of Business Development.
Kyle is a proud Utah native. He is married with four children and a devoted University of Utah fan even though his two daughters attend Brigham Young University. Kyle loves to snow and water ski, play tennis and golf, and travel with his wife, children and two golden doodles.
